Exmouth Integrated Artificial reef project – Q3 2018

After decommissioning the Griffin Field, Base Marine’s team of blasting specialists removed all coatings from the MDB’s and modified their weights to ensure level trim and stability. The buoys were modified to optimize their hydrodynamics and asset stabilisation before returning them to water and installed them in the Exmouth gulf along with 49 other purpose-built concrete reef modules. This became “King Reef” named by the local community and the largest purpose-built reef in the southern hemisphere.
